Bernie couldn't win the fucking primaries. He wasn't even COMPETITIVE. This is the thing I don't understand about the Bernie bros, he wasn't enough to energize his supporters to actually vote in the primaries, why would the actual election be any different.

The other thing that absolutely tanks this moronic opinion, is that Trump is winning despite record turnouts. Biden got people to vote, it just wasn't enough and the absolute joke that the democrat platform on illegals and BLM riots absolutely destroyed any credibility they had with moderates.

Just having the electoral votes in each state be given out proportionally would help things immensely as it would force the Democrats/Republicans to campaign across the nation rather than in a few select states and you wouldn't have to open up the constitution to do so.

If you do that, you might as well just go full bore into using the popular vote. The fundamental problem with the US, is it tries to straddle the line of treating the states as equal but independent entities, while also trying to govern them as a whole. That's where you get stupidity like marijuana being legal at the state level, but illegal at the federal level.

I don't get why we have to select specific electors in the first place instead of the votes just....going to whoever earned them. It seems like a needless step in the best case, and a recipe for weird faithless elector controversy in the worst.

The Electoral College is a momentously stupid system, but was implemented to solve the problem of heavily populated urban areas dictating policy decisions that would adversely affect rural populations. Going to a "popular vote" system would be just as stupid, but there has to be a better way.

Jumped back into this to continue hard mode playthrough, I stopped playing after Air Buster last time, but was able to get up to Chapter 13 over the last few days. At first Hard Mode felt really difficult, but either through levelling/weapon upgrades or just getting better at the game, I don't think I've had a game over since Air Buster, besides 1 at Hell House

Man, stop talking about Star Wars here. I can't friggin' get over the fact that both the prequels and sequels trilogies are some of the most massively underrated things ever.

The original Star Wars trilogy is basically the Gen 1 of Pokmon -- massively loved (and rightfully so), but the later installments just made the franchise even better.

I think the internet as a whole suffered massive brain damage with the strange love the PT has gotten recently. The ST is objectively a rotting dumpster fire, and no amount of "hipster cool" movements will change that fact. Episode 9 may actually be the worst movie I have ever watched

The only communities that would come to conclusions like "triple h belongs in the top 50 of all time" are ones with an EXTREME WWE leaning like this board.

Triple H was a main draw during the brief period of time that anybody outside of the hardcore wrestling fanbois actually paid attention to it. While there are a bunch of really sketchy stories coming out (like the 24 year old sleeping with a 14 year old that looks 10), a lot of these cases are consensual in cases above or only slightly below age of consent.

It's really weird how a lot of people are piling on to these "#MeToo" dumps with situations that aren't under any definition sexual assault. It really distracts from the actual cases, and I can't imagine what real victims feel about people trying to latch onto the movement to get more Twitch subs or whatever.

First of all, weapon durability in BotW is the single worst game mechanic in any game I have ever played. It absolutely destroys the pacing of the game in order to artificially increase the play time.

Not sure I believe it. Biden was definitely going to beat Trump before the riots started, but now I'm not so sure. The people rioting think Biden isn't being "supportive enough" while the people not rioting see Biden's inability to condemn the violent protests as being soft on crime. I still hope Biden wins, but he's definitely going to lose support coming out of this, while the base of Trump supporters won't change their stance short of Trump physically punching each and everyone of them in the face.

A lot of the videos I have seen, the rioters were asking for it. A lot of other videos are suspiciously cut to not show the events that happened before the "assaults".

If the protests were actually peaceful, this behavior is absolutely unacceptable and criminal.

With the protests the way they are (looting, assaults, burning cars/buildings), I support all of the standard riot control measures like tear gas/pepper spray/rubber bullets. If people aren't taken to task for breaking the law and hurting innocent people, society will literally fall apart at the seams.

Trump will win a landslide though at this rate. The radical left couldn't last another 5 months without completely shitting the bed? The overwhelming support for the violet riots happening the last few days is going to scare moderates away in droves. It doesn't really matter if people disagree with Trump's policies on healthcare/social issues/military, those topics are so abstract they don't affect the day to day life of 80% of the country. What does affect everyone's life negatively is watching cities burn to the ground, and all of these looters/rioters getting away with committing crime.

At this rate I see nothing postive coming from the "protests". The minute they turned violent and started burning shit, they lost the support of most moderates.

There are a lot of people who have no problem with minorities who's lives have been/are being affected by the riots. There are also a lot of people looking at the crazy footage coming out of the riots and scared that this shit could happen in their neighbourhoods too.

The absolute worst part of this, is that the root issue (over militarized, under regulated cops with a godlike corrupt union backing them up) is being lost behind the racism argument. If these protesters had a clear aim, such as scrapping police unions, or putting in sane gun regulations like the entire rest of the world has, I would be more on board with it. As it stands, I'm still not quite sure what their goal is, since their actions are only going to increase racial tensions.

Hell, there's one where a reporter was on the ground and holding his press badge above his head and a cop walked over and sprayed him in the face with pepper spray anyway despite there being no danger whatsoever.

What are the negatives outside the cost of living?

The biggest thing for me was how crowded everything was. Crowded busses/subways suck, and I didn't like not being able to easily drive around. My daily commute was 1:15 each way, and that's actually a not bad commute compared to some other people I know down there.

One of the main criticisms I heard growing up was "there's nothing to do here, wish I lived in a big city". And while true, all of those "things to do" in the big city cost money, money which you don't have as much of because of the cost of living. Outdoor activities is another big one. We have a family cottage that we go to pretty much every weekend in the summer, and there's also any number of hiking/biking/snowshoeing/skiing trails nearby.

Having access to a lot of ethnic foods was a big plus, but with the recent increases in immigration, a lot of immigrant families are moving to my current city and opening up great restaurants (a Syrian family recently moved here and opened up a fantastic shawarma place, and one of the best indian restaurants I've ever eaten at is here).

More people should move to smaller towns. I lived in a town < 100,000 my whole life, except for 2 years that I lived in Toronto. There are advantages to living in a big city, but the negatives far outweigh the positives. The biggest thing for me was the prospect of never owning a house, so when I had an opportunity to take a great job in my hometown, I jumped on it.

3 - Get rid of most of the anti-rally nonsense. This debate is completely settled and over. I've won the argument. Killing the rallies has all but murdered our vote totals. The experiment has failed; get rid of it. I like registered users getting a bonus and I like the poll starting at 8. ''Everything'' else needs to go. No more forced voting in every match, no more fighting against referral links, and every round after divisional finals needs to be one match per day. Witcher 3 vs Persona 5 and Dark Souls vs Skyrim both happening at the same time was a joke.

This is a next level dumb take, considering most of the contests on top of your list had zero to minimal rallying. Your other points are valid, but the anti rally measures are the one bright spot in the death spiral this site is going through.
